GG2457922 Kebene EduCare
In March 2026 12 members of Rotary Genk and their spouses visited the KeBeNe Educare project.
After concluding the audit we found all was established according to The Rotary Foundation Guidelines and in line with the objectives of this Global Grant.
The main objective of the project is to develop the community by supporting the fast growing tourist industry that is limited in its growth due to a lack of a skilled workforce. Establish a vocational training center and provide vocational training to 20 young teenage mothers and 29 young adults (35 girls, 14 boys) at Kebene Trust in Kenya.
- Labor market related trainings (IT, tourism, English, hospitality industry).
- Creativity and talent support and development trainings (art, dance, music, hairdress, care, mani & pedicure).
- Wellbeing and mental health trainings and coaching (Physical, mental, social and spiritual wellbeing, Budget Management & Finance, Birth control, First Aid).
- Workshops (Sewing, handicrafts, art, design, agriculture, horticulture).
During these courses, practical internships are provided with local businesses to allow these young adults to gain experience on the labour market. They will be professionally guided to complete this trajectory.
